Singapore Pavilion at Astana World Expo 2017

Kazakh folklore often tell of different worlds, diverse realms in which folk heroes explore to find meaning and purpose. One of Kazakhstan’s most famous tales, of a magic garden that provides sustenance and refuge, is in the same vein as the Singapore Pavilion as it styles itself as a terrarium – a different world and a microcosm of a nation that is continually striving to be self-reliant in spite of its size. The terrarium speaks of both Singapore’s reputation as a city in a garden, as well as our efforts to create an ecosystem where we are ambitious, yet clear-headed, in generating effective solutions for a sustainable future.
