WORKSHOPS IN EDEN 001: Building with Bamboo

Primitive. Outdated, Vernacular. The Bamboo is often misconceived as a material of the past. In this workshop, we aim to break this stigma and explore the possibilities the humble Bamboo can present to building for the future.

Join Architect John Naylor as he shares his experience and knowledge on building with Bamboo. Participants will explore the material attributes of bamboo through a hands-on model-making workshop.

John is the co-founder of a design education and construction team in Haiti, Klis Studio, which teaches digital tools to promote bamboo construction as a catalyst for safer building practices and ecological restoration. He continues to lead the AA’s bamboo research programme, AAVS Bamboo Lab.
