Sun Yat Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall

Gazetted under the Preservation Order, the Sun Yat Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall, as an architectural entity, reflects the lifestyle and characteristics in an epoch of uprising.

As a National Monument, the Memorial Hall highlights Singapore’s pivotal role as the headquarters of the revolutionary movement in Southeast Asia.

The visitor is guided through a journey choreographed with reminders of Dr. Sun’s experiences while he was in Singapore, his contributions to the political climate of his time and his role in modern Chinese history.

The spatial narrative strings together three main storylines of ‘Story of the Man’, ‘Story of the House’ and ‘Story of Modern China’, bringing to life the history and relevance of this significant figure.
